free QRP book

I found another free book.

Fabio, IZ3AYQ, has published a small book (77 pgs) full of designs for QRP rigs.  (Also QRPp, QRPx etc down to milliwatt range.)

Downloadable PDF, link is:

Maybe some building ideas here, with cycle 25 on the rise.

Dave, VE3WI

Thanks for posting that Dave. I have downloaded the book and look forward to another great read! I have to admit that I used to be a dedicated QRPer. I drifted away from QRP when band conditions turned bad through the solar minimum (we aren't out of it yet, of course). I still have my QRP equipment and I do look forward to the day when I can carry a lightweight pack out into the field and make contacts while hiking. Recently I have been using at least 30 watts while operating /p but the battery is heavy and my back is weak!

Don VE3IDS posted to the qrparci mailing list about using an oscillater chip instead of a crystal. That would be useful in some of the circuits presented in the book.
Use of oscillator IC in place of a crystal

Is this the chips that you have?

They are quite simple to hook up. VCC on one pin, ground on another and there is an output pin and the fourth pin is an enable pin. They are designed to replace a crystal and don't require much more except a 3 volt or 5 volt supply depending on the chip
