Grey County has decided to get some of their staff Ham Radio Certified as County or Municipal operators in the event of a declared emergency. This will help in staffing operators in our area and they all would have a community interest that emergency comm's will work. There may be an opportunity for those non County Staff interested to get basic certified on this course.
The course will run at an accelerated pace with the following schedule where the material lectures are held in the mornings and in the afternoon Industry Canada questions on the material covered are reviewed and explained.
Wednesday, May 22 - Sydenham Campus (formerly Sydenham Community School, now owned by Grey County)
Wednesday, May 29 - Sydenham Campus
Friday, May 31 - Valley Room, Grey County Admin Building
Tuesday, June 11 - Sydenham Campus
Thursday, June 13 - Sydenham Campus
Tuesday, June 18 – Valley Room, Grey County Admin Building
Thursday, Jun 20 – Bay Room, Grey County Admin Building
Tuesday, Jun 25 – Sydenham Campus – FINAL CLASS, FOLLOWED BY EXAM
My objective is to get these students to pass with an 80% or more final test grade.
Any instructors willing to assist with the course are appreciated and should get in touch with Frank Gufler at VA3-GUF@outlook.com.
