Giving this a read now; I was looking into building a phased array for 20m using the same type of light wire I made my dipole out of, an array that could be part of a portable set up; never built an array before though and I was going to make a post in the forum about arrays when I saw this write up about the 40m 4-square.

Looks like there can be a good increase in multiple directions with a phased array and a relay. I only started reading about these last night - I was thinking such a system could be use for directivity rather than a yagi - which would be hard to suspend up high up in the trees in my camp let alone rotate it around around.

I did at one time build a sloping two element, single band yagi that worked ok (based upon ideas given in this article: http://www.arrl.org/files/file/Technolo ... 111035.pdf).
