Sounds good Tom.
WX suppose to be nice so should have a good time. My BPF is in transit somewhere over the ocean, hope it gets here in next day or two.
If you are going to use electronic logging, create a log
VE3OSR@CA-5983-20250821 this way you can submit it directly to Parks on the Air app. Log in to POTA app as pota@gbarc.ca

I will probably be there by 4:00pm.
Looking forward to this event.

49:1 endfed balun....arrived today, put 66 1/2 feet of wire on it for 40m ...the IC705 and tuner have no issues tuning across the whole band. 10w max

I picked this up on amazon and it was less than $12.

I also have a 9:1 off centre fed.... used it at Arran Lake recently, same idea , small compact antennas for portable ops.

amazon

With both of these antennas, get the hot glue gun out and tack the torroids in place ...

I could do with about 25 feet of rg58, but I'll be happy with 15 feet .... if it had bnc connectors, that would be even better.

As a feedline for the 705 ....

The activation at Denny's Dam went very well, thanks to those that attended and between all stations we made more than 80 contacts..

Looks like we are making progress while learning and experimenting. Different antennas and setups makes this part of the hobby so interesting. Most of the setups and operating is done in less then 3 hours. VE3OSR is on top of the leader board for Denny's Dam CA.
Hope more members gain interest in the growing hobby of Parks on the Air.
Looking forward to next activation.
