Field Day 2025 Follow-Up: Exploring More Club Activities
During our Field Day 2025 meeting, one of the key takeaways was the interest in organizing more club events that encourage member participation and engagement. One idea that stood out was Parks on the Air (POTA) — an exciting and rapidly growing amateur radio activity.
POTA offers a great opportunity for operators of all experience levels to get on the air, enjoy the outdoors, and engage with the larger ham radio community. Some of our members have already had the chance to experience POTA first-hand and found it both fun and rewarding.
Whether you're into casual operating, trying new gear in the field, or racking up contacts for awards, POTA has something for everyone. It's a great way to combine amateur radio with a bit of adventure — and it's easy for anyone to join in.
If you're interested in learning more or helping organize a POTA outing, let us know. We'd love to see more members get involved and share in the experience.
