I checked the second option but I will be just as happy to operate as VE3FP/Alone 1(B,D or E) ONS. The other thing we could do is to have group meeting on Zoom for a virtual get together. I am not going to skip Field Day, only comes once a year.
Here are some ideas from ARRL:

I like the idea of doing field day as usual Smile

I will be happy to go along with the group consensus. My plan is to operate a digital station so was also planning to do my own log.

This  is a good topic for discussion during the Wed. evening 2M net..

I doubt that the  "as usual" option is really not  possible given that social distancing  restrictions are  still in effect and likely will
continue for some time yet...   And,   if restrictions are lifted sometime soon there may be no possibility of getting all approvals
and permits  in place with the town in time...

I expect to operate at home,  Class 1E,  CW,   80, 40,  20,  2,  7ocm,  plus  satellite..   Would welcome any club member to
come by,,  play with my toys and operate for a while.........

Adam,  VE3FP  is doing much the same,   and there may be others..   Maybe we could promote a little inter-club competition.
I don't know if there are any other "contesters" amongst the membership..  My sense is there are not so that idea may not fly..

I ticked "distancing"  but expect to operate 1E from home, probably just part of the time.

I voted "same as usual" but only if its legal to do so. If our Lord Protector in the Premier's office allows us to gather in groups large enough to hold a regular field day I don't see why we should limit ourselves. But chances are he won't relax the rules enough to permit our usual FD grouping.

Camaraderie is one of the biggest elements of Field Day so if we have to maintain strict social distancing it just won't be as much fun. I plan to operate a CW station and will be self-logging anyway. My logging program, CQRLOG (Linux) has an integrated memory keyer that makes it very easy to run a one man station. I have been practicing and perfecting my technique during recent state QSO parties. A second person doing the logging would only slow things down.

If we don't go ahead with a club event I will certainly operate from my trailer in my driveway with generator power and a specially erected antenna.

It will be a different way of operating field day this year, I know I will not be available to attend this year however will do my best to be on the air.
I will dough any group gathering will be allowed legally and may impact our Insurance and city permits.

Operating from home can also be fun for a change, great way to prepare your own station for the exercise or try a new mode, new antenna. It can be fun to get your own family (YL) on the air... ok or not Smile .

Take care everyone.

With most events like Salmon Spectacular and Summerfolk cancelled for the this year, Field Day as usual not likely happen. I agree with Paul ve3pq and John va3kot to operate as an individual stations and maybe have competition among club members. Also when submitting your results use your call sign and enter "Georgian Bay Amateur Radio Club"  in the Club or Group Name.  http://field-day.arrl.org/fdentry.php  to submit your results by July 28.
Getting any publicity and bonus points maybe difficult this year but posting your "Field Day Alone" operating video may count for points.
Most of our members who operated during Field Day in the past are fairly familiar with N1MM logging software running in Windows OS. There are links on the web to running it under Linux.
I may even try 2 & 6 meters this year as well.

Hope to hear you on the FD2020.

ARRL have amended the Field Day contest scoring rules for 2020..

QSO's between  Class !D  (home)   stations will now  earn score  points..   ( Previously zero points )

Individual  club member's scores  when operating from home can now be agregated for a club entry..

That's great news Paul. I was planning to operate from my trailer (on my driveway). With these rule changes I will be able to operate 1D from my regular home station. Also, with the aggregation of club scores, there is added incentive for GBARC members to participate and submit their scores for the club's benefit.

Of course, if the club decides to go ahead with a group field event I will participate in that instead.

I am glad they made that change with the points for 1D stations for this Field Day. My setup will be much the same as Field Day last year, camper trailer with portable power and some antenna thrown up in the trees. Will operate 10 through 160 and maybe 6 and 2. So it will be VE3FP 1E ONS.
Still have to do some work on the Hex Beam and might put that to use as well.
Looking forward to it, as usual.

Doesn't look like anyone is going to FD this year, just operate from home or some location by yourself. I know won't be as much fun but hopefully next year we can again have a regular group FD.  Huh
