A few club meetings back I volunteered to secure the location so I booked the Grey/Sauble HQ same as last year. There is ongoing construction but the lady there told me there should be room to park our cards. The washrooms may not be usable in which case I'll order a porta potti. At tge net tonight there was talk about using Victoria park, not sure where that came from.

Sounds like a good idea but Frank va3guf took on the task of getting the site and was going to post something a couple of days after the last meeting. Maybe check with him before going ahead and creating confusion.

Here are some past FD results.

I am not sure if I can find the missing years other than the COVID years(2020/2021) which we didn't do it as a group.
If anyone has the missing files, I could use them.

I have acquired, (borrowed) a trailer for field day. It’s 6x12feet flat nose. Side door and rear doors. It will have a desk which will fit width wise and a table with 4 chairs. I will rig up some led lights with batteries. We also should have use of the same shelter as last year. I can also borrow a pop-up shelter. The table and chairs can be set up in the trailer or we could use them in the shelter. I hope everyone likes oak! It’s not a matching set with the desk though! The desk is about 5’ wide and2’ deep. Table about 4’ square c/w vinyl cover.
Great place for at least one station!
I take it that we are going to Victoria Park?

I'm hoping the weather continues to improve and we have better luck this year. Ideas for what to bring for potluck? Smile

We are only couple of weeks away from our favorite annual event, Field Day. It would be nice to have a list of people that are planning to attend, operate and/or just help out with the setup and teardown.
At the last meeting we talked about having 3 stations but with latest band conditions being quite poor, I think 2 stations would probably be adequate and just fulfill all the operating slots.
Maybe Tom can put up a signup list like in the previous years to get an idea what to plan for.

Just my thought.

VE3RQY: "We’ll need spoons, bowls, napkins, cups, water, etc."

Pot luck sounds good.  I'll bring the spoons, bowls, napkins, cups.  If there's any food that I should bring, just let me know.

I'll be bringing the Yagi & tower from Tom's QTH on Sat AM.  Also bringing my Honda generator as backup for Frank's, & some extension cords.   If there's anything else needed just let me know.

I'll do some operating/logging, but won't be staying on-site overnight.

Location: Victoria Park (next to the Owen Sound YMCA)
9AM Saturday June 28th to 2PM Sunday June 29th

This post is a follow-up to Adam's suggestion in determining the number of individuals that will be attending the event for the various activities that take place for this event.  Those individuals that have already added replies to this forum need not reply to the items you have already responded to.  Answer participation items even if it is only for one item, no amount is too little as any amount of participation is grateful.

Participation Items:
  1. Operate a Radio?
  2. Scribe for the operator?
  3. Assist with set-up?
  4. Assist with site dismantling?
  5. Contribute to Pot-Luck Supper?
  6. Contribute to Sunday Breakfast?
  7. See Amateur Radio in action?
Cheers

I was originally planning on coming up for one of the days (to mainly do #7= see Amateur Radio in action) but things are a bit up in the air as my son who is a pharmacist with Niagara Region Hospitals got a new job in KW with Grand River Hospital and I may have to help him move that weekend.  Not 100% sure yet but maybe I can visit on one of the days.  Thanks.

Up till Tuesday morning there was a porta- John back where we have field day. It’s not there anymore. Will there be one for this weekend?

Got word late yesterday that the Port-A-Potty you saw was actually ordered by GBARC for the wrong date.  Do not have a Port-A-Potty ordered at this late date.  Will have to use the YMCA public washrooms while it is open unless someone can bring a camping toilet or compost toilet for us to set up a secluded shelter for it.

Can anyone bring a camping toilet or a compost toilet to Field Day?

If none is available, can someone bring an old toilet seat.  I have a 5 gallon bucket with Peat Moss that can be used as a compost toilet.  Compost toilet is easy to make with a 5 gallon bucket and peat moss, no smell. Just mount a toilet seat on the bucket.

Anyone have a small winter fishing hut shelter or something similar that can be used for the makeshift toilet shelter to keep the rain out?

Let me know at va3-guf@outlook.com.

Okay all,

Talked on the phone with Wilton Sanitation as they opened this morning at 7AM and have a portable toilet being delivered for the weekend today.  Charge will be same as last $175 plus $50 delivery.  Executive is in the loop with the email correspondence followup.

As Tom said in the previous post 2025 ARRL/RAC Field was a success with many members and guests attending.
Weather, food and camaraderie at it's finest. We operated 2A ONS with our club call sign VE3OSR using club Icom IC-7300 and Yeasu Ft-891 interfaced with N1MM logging software.
Here are the unofficial results:
