Coax splicing (no connectors needed)

this is close to how I did it last year, but I don't remember mine looking as neat and tidy.  Who needs connectors to splice coax...

Actually I don't know why he cut off the first splice.  Looked good Smile 

Seriously, nice Western Union splice on the center conductor.  I would definitely solder the center conductor and the braid, for both electrical and mechanical reasons.  A piece of the dielectric can be used to fill the gap.
