HAM RADIO WITHOUT THE RADIO
#1
Just became aware of "hamsphere", a clever simulation of ham radio over the internet using VOIP.  Runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android.  Not actually ham radio so no licence is required.

A subscription costs about $45/year for the basic software transceiver, and there is a catalog of (software) accessories which have a one time fee.

I'll probably stick to emitting RF though :-)

I tried Hamsphere last year, but didn't like it.  It would be a good option for hams that can't set up a radio in their apartment etc.  I prefer the RF route.
