The International Lighthouse/Lightship weekend was held on Aug. 20-21 at the Cabot Head lighthouse in Northern Bruce peninsula. Attending the event were VA3VID,VE3IZS, VA3TS, VE3NX, VA3DFL,
VA3STG, VA3TSG, VA3FIN and VE3BQM.
Adam arrived on Friday evening so that he could operate as net control on Ontars on Saturday morning. The only fly in the ointment was the weather which produced several downpours during setup as well as takedown on Sunday. However saturday afternoon and evening was warm and many visitors while attending the lighthouse and local sites were also able to see an amateur station in operation, see where we had been talking thanks to a map supplied by Mark FIn as well as great talks by Adam IZS about amateur radio in general. In spite of band conditions which were less than ideal, we had a great success getting the word out about amateur radio. Thanks to Adam IZS for his efforts organizing the get together, to all who attended and to Daphne DFL for her usual treats and goodies. 73 Tom va3ts
